Terry Stinson

CEO and Managing Director

Mr Stinson holds a degree in Business Administration and Operations Management from Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He commenced at Orbital in 2008 bringing over 30 years experience in R&D, engine development and manufacturing, and fuel systems design and manufacturing.

His extensive commercialization and management experience was gained through senior executive positions with Siemens VDO, as the CEO of Synerject LLC and subsequent Board Directorship, and his role as VP Manufacturing for Outboard Marine Corporation. In 1995, Mr Stinson was appointed as President and CEO of METEOR, a JV company between Mercury Marine Division of Brunswick Corporation and Orbital.

He moved to Perth from the USA and remained in that role for nearly five years, during which period METEOR became the Synerject LLC joint venture business.

Terry’s specialisations are within General Management, Strategic Planning & Management, Restructuring & Productivity Improvement Initiatives, Manufacturing, R&D, Senior Executive & Board Leadership contribution within Marine, Motorcycle, General Recreation, Automotive, Heavy Duty Engines, Defense, and other industries.

• Growth and Profitability – Working to transform the company from engineering services into sales of components and systems. In the past four years have launched new product lines: liquid injection on the EcoLPi for Ford, LNG systems for heavy duty truck applications, engine systems for US Defence industry – Orbital Corporation Limited, Perth WA (CEO & MD) –

• Turnaround and Growth – fuel injection systems, fuel pumps and fuel module assemblies for automotive, launched several new products, expanded operations internationally and made significant profitability improvements on close to $500 million in sales – Siemens VDO (VP & GM) -.

• Multinational start-up venture, with component and Engine Management Systems leadership in air-assisted fuel injection and multi-port fuel injection systems for specialty, motorcycle, marine, recreation and other non-auto port injection system applications – Synerject LLC (CEO and Managing Director) –

• Manufacturing Turnaround – focus on manufacturing consolidation, lean, cost reduction, materials and logistics innovations for marine propulsion systems, pleasure boats, and marine after-market – Outboard Marine Corporation, Waukegan (VP)

• New Products and Processes, as Director of New Product and Process development, lead the development of many new marine products and supporting manufacturing processes, primarily focus innovation to meet new and upcoming environment requirements for marine applications – Mercury Marine
